What advantages are there to the ClaimSafe® compared to other mobile surveillance systems?
There are many, but the three biggest advantages are: 1) Full-motion video captures everything that happens. This can be especially valuable in the case of a claim of injury due to contact with a hard surface on the vehicle. A 7.5 frame per sec. (fps) system might not show conclusively whether or not contact was actually made. With full-motion video at 30 fps, there is no doubt. 2) With the highest resolution available among mobile systems on the market, it is much easier to make identifications based on the video images. 3) Reliability is the best on the market. Painstakingly engineered to withstand the power fluctuations, vibrations, and shock of transit vehicles, -including collisions, ClaimSafe® surpasses all other digital video systems marketed for transit vehicles.
Can we use ClaimSafe® on a trial basis?
TVSS will be happy to install a demonstration unit for evaluation purposes. If your company is seriously planning to purchase a video surveillance system in the near future, we will install the system on one vehicle to give you the opportunity to evaluate it. We are confident you will be ready to make a decision in favor of ClaimSafe® by the end of that time. Call (800)344-TVSS to arrange for installation of a demonstration unit.
Can we have ClaimSafe® installed by the bus manufacturer on new buses we are buying?
Certainly. TVSS will be happy to work with any bus manufacturers to meet your needs.
Can ClaimSafe® be installed as a stationary security system?
Yes, it can, but that may not be to your advantage. The extensive engineering that has been put into the ClaimSafe® to harden it for mobile usage is not needed for stationary security systems. TVSS has other systems available for facility protection at lower cost.
Why is your hard drive so much larger than that of other systems on the market?
The significantly higher picture resolution and full-motion video (30 frames per second) being recorded from all four cameras creates the need for much more memory than what is required by systems that can record no more than 7.5 frames per second from four cameras.
I have heard claims from other manufacturers that they record at the rate of 30 frames per second. Why do you say you are the only one?
In fact, some other systems do record at 30 frames per second. However, they are recording at that rate in the aggregate, with rotation between the cameras. Thus, with a four-camera system, the highest rate they can record from any one camera, while recording all four, is one fourth of the 30 frames per second. With the TVSS ClaimSafe® system you can see recorded video from every camera recorded at the full-motion rate of 30 frames per second. ClaimSafe® III is the only mobile system we know of that can record full-motion video, or 30 frames (60 fields) per second from 8 camera simultaneously.
Does ClaimSafe® only record at the full-motion rate?
No, the frame rate is adjustable. TVSS recommends the full motion rate. When ClaimSafe® was first developed, it was based on specifications from a customers insurance company. Full-motion video was specified in order to provide the best and most complete evidence to support the vehicle operator and its insurance company in preventing fraud and the paying of excessive claims.
